Tuesday, March 09, 2010

Catch the Leprechaun, a 5K run/walk, will be held at 6:30 p.m., March 17 at the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park.

The eco-friendly race will feature a pot of gold for the men's and women's winners, a prize for runners who finish before the leprechaun and a post race ceremony featuring live music and refreshments.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Pattison's Academy for Comprehensive Education (PACE).

"There is a need in the Lowcountry for a full time school which meets both the therapeutic and educational needs of the child," said Sloan Cooper, executive director of Pattison's Academy.

"This race will provide us with the financial support necessary to innovate and sustain programs which can maximize the physical and educational potential of children with disabilities. We are fortunate to have partners like Turnkey Creative and the Sertoma Club of Mount Pleasant who were willing to donate the time and resources needed to put together this great event."

Fees:

$30 (Shirt Subject to Availability)

$20 for Non-Runners
