Advanced Sommelier
Maverick Southern Kitchens’ wine and beverage director Patrick Emerson is now one of only two professionals in the state of South Carolina to be certified as an Advanced Sommelier to the Court of Master Sommeliers.  The certification is the third of four stages required to attain the Master Sommelier Diploma, which is the ultimate professional credential anyone can attain worldwide, in the service of wine, spirits and other alcoholic beverages.

Dr. Mark Ghegan
Mark Ghegan, M.D., has recently joined the physicians team at Charleston Ear, Nose and Throat Associates, a practice group of nine board-certified otolaryngologists with six offices throughout the Tri-County area. Dr. Ghegan moves from Atlanta, where he worked as an ENT physician and surgeon.
Ghegan completed his internship and residency at The Medical University of South Carolina Department of Otolaryngology after earning his M.D. at The Medical College of Georgia. Ghegan received a B.A. from The University of Virginia, graduating with honors. He is a member of The Academy of Otolaryngology and been published in The American Journal of Otolaryngology, The American Journal of Rhinology, The Journal of Endovascular Therapy, Laryngoscope and The Archives of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Ghegan is board certified and is seeing patients at the West Ashley and Mount Pleasant offices.
