Hazel Pike Dovre, 94, widow of Harold Dovre of Mt. Pleasant, SC, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 17, 2009. Relatives and friends of Hazel Dovre attended her Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in The Rodenburg Chapel at Franke at Seaside at 2:00 p.m.
A Burial followed in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Pastor Sherry Owensby-Sykes officiated. The family received friends in J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL on Tuesday, May 19, 2009.
Mrs. Dovre was born July 5, 1914 in Arapaho, Oklahoma, daughter of the late James Jefferson Pike and Martha Nottingham Pike. She was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. She was a long standing member and Past Grand Chief of the Supreme Temple, Pythian Sisters, of South Carolina. Mrs. Dovre was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who’s memory will be cherished for many years to come.
She is survived by her son, Al Lee Dovre, Sr. and his wife, Jimmy, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughters, Della Delores Scoggin and her husband Bob, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Marie Gosnell and her husband, Douglas, of Walterboro, SC; eleven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harold Richard Dovre of Charleston, SC and three brothers and two sisters.
