The wait is over. Football season is finally here.
And with that, fans know the annual Sertoma Football Classic is ready to kick-off.
This year’s Classic will run on Thursday and Friday at Johnson Hagood Stadium at the Citadel, marking the 39th year of this Lowcountry favorite event.
Kick-off will be at 7 p.m. both nights.
Teams participating in  the Classic will play for one quarter.
But they won’t be the only ones competing.
While teams are on the field, cheerleaders and band members show their support from the sidelines.
The school that shows the most spirit is awarded a trophy at the end of the last game.
Advanced tickets are on sale at area Bi-Lo stores and from all participating high school cheerleaders for $15 each.
Game night tickets can be purchased at the West side ticket booth.
They are $15 each starting at 5 p.m. each night. Children 6 and under free.
Wando will take on Bishop England on Thursday in the final game.
