Shaggin’ Season Winding Down at the Mount Pleasant Pier
[Subheading]
Thursday, August 26, 2010

[MOUNT PLEASANT] – Beach music season is winding down, but Shaggin’ on the Cooper continues for three more evenings at the Mount Pleasant Pier!  Shaggin’ fans, it’s your last chance to dance the night away to live music on Saturday, Aug. 28, Sept. 11 and Oct. 9 with the final pier concerts of the season.  Come out and take advantage of the cooler fall weather with live music and stunning evening views on the end of one of the longest piers in the Southeast.

Coming up on Saturday, Aug. 28, The Shem Creek Boogie Band will perform on the pier beginning at 8 p.m.  On Sept. 11, enjoy music by Local Motion and then on Oct. 9, the final Shaggin’ on the Cooper event of 2010 will feature beach music favorite The Coppertones.  Bands will perform favorite beach music tunes live at the end of the 1,250-foot long pier.

Join us on the Mount Pleasant Pier, located at the foot of the Arthur Ravenel, Jr. Bridge. Gates open for each performance at 7 p.m. and music begins at 8.   Bring the whole family (ages 3 and up) or come with that special someone to unwind after a long week.  Not a dancer? Enjoy the music on the pier and watch the sunset over Charleston Harbor while sipping your favorite beverage, available for purchase on-site.

A limited number of tickets will be sold for these events so arrive early! Admission is $10 per event or $8 for Charleston County residents if purchased in advance. Shaggin’ fans on Folly Beach may also wish to take part in the Folly Beach Fishing Pier’s Moonlight Mixers series, held on select Fridays throughout the summer and fall (next dates Sept. 3, Sept. 17 & Oct. 15).  For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.ccprc.com or call 795-4FUN (4386).
