Eggs Up Grill, Mount Pleasant’s newest breakfast and lunch establishment, made a $1,062 donation to East Cooper Community Outreach on Monday, April 15.

“There are other Eggs Up Grill restaurant locations, mostly in the Myrtle Beach area,” said co-owner Jerry Romaine, “but our store is new to Mount Pleasant and we were looking for an opportunity to support our own community.”

East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) provides emergency assistance for food, clothing, household furnishings, and financial needs as well as, ongoing services including medical, dental, prescription drug assistance, education and counseling. All programs and services strive to guide clients toward self-sufficiency.

“We welcome Eggs Up Grill into our community. We are excited they chose ECCO to receive the proceeds from their first fundraiser. We depend upon our neighbors to keep our programs operational since we are not supported by government funds. Eggs Up has already proven to be a great neighbor,” says Jack Little, executive director.

“Jerry suggested we take a look at East Cooper Community Outreach,” said Kaycie Lane, Jerry’s business partner and co-owner. “So we took a tour of their facility and met their staff. I was really impressed by the scope of their operation and the variety of services they provide. Because Jerry and I both live in Mount Pleasant, it was important for us to select an organization that was serving this neighborhood.”

Eggs Up Grill made a commitment to donate to ECCO 10 percent of their sales made every Monday from Jan. 1 through March 31.

“We are so pleased to provide ECCO with these much-needed funds,” said Lane. “We wish them continued success in their mission to eliminate poverty in East Cooper communities and we hope our donation assists them in that worthy goal.” Jerry Roamine continues, “Kaycie and I are very interested in being involved in our neighborhood and wanted to give back to a worthy organization.”

Eggs Up Grill is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily and serves a variety of breakfast favorites plus an extensive lunch offering. The Mount Pleasant location is at 2664 Highway 17 North, next door to Carrabba’s. There are also locations at Pawleys Island, Surfside, Conway, Myrtle Beach, Garden City and Anderson.
