Learn about pirates at Old Exchange

The Old Exchange Building lecture series is coming to a close, and to commemorate a successful season, the last lecture will be offered to the public for free.

A $3 donation is suggested but not required. Tour guide and storyteller Eric Lavender will lecture on the infamous pirate Captain Charles Vane, who plagued the Carolina Coast during the “Golden Age of Piracy.”

A native South Carolinian, Eric Lavender is a widely regarded authority on pirate history in the Carolinas, not only giving tours in Charleston, but also appearing at museums, schools, events and libraries across the southeast. Lavender also acted as a consultant and appeared on A&E, Lifetime, ETV, Bing Travel and on numerous other television, radio, print and online media outlets. He and his wife, Sabrina, operate Charleston Pirate Tours and Island Paradise Balloon Art.

Where: Old Exchange Buildind, 122 East Bay St.
