Prepare for standardized tests at Library

  • Monday, January 14, 2013

You made it through the holiday season. Yippee. Give yourself a little treat. Feel better? Great - now get back to work. Do you need to study for a standardized test, like the SAT, ACT, ASVAB, GRE, NCLEX-RN, or Praxis (to name just a few)? The Charleston County Public Library has plenty of resources for test takers. For those who prefer printed books, we have study guides for checkout, such as “SAT 2013: Strategies, Practice, and Review” by Kaplan Test Prep, “ASVAB for Dummies” by Rod Powers, “Cracking the GRE” by the staff of the Princeton Review, and many, many more. More comfortable with electronic resources? The library has a database called Learning Express Library, which can help you prepare for numerous standardized tests such as those listed above, as well as the Civil Service Exam, the U.S. Citizenship Exam, the LSAT, and many more. First time users will need to create an account. Visit www.ccpl.org and select “Research Tools” under “Quick Links.” For more information, please call the Reference Desk at 849-6161.   Upcoming library programs: Mount Pleasant Reel Club – A Book and Movie Discussion Group (adults)
