Police were called to a vehicle break-in in progress and arrived on the scene to find a very irate victim. The report said an officer walked over to speak to the victim and she was screaming an pointing towards another man and said, "that's the %^$#@@#&(*) who tried to get into my car."
There was a male off in the distance standing under a tree facing a building.
Another officer approached him and found him just standing there with his hands in his pockets. The officer asked him what was going on and he did not respond. He was then told to have a seta on the sidewalk and the subject aggressively said, "no," according to the report.
The officer then told him he was under arrest and to place his hands behind his back. The subject became aggressive, according to the report.
At that time the officer pulled out his taser and warned the subject he would be tased but the subject continued to resist and pull away. The officer was able to holster his taser, though and take the man to the ground. And after several attempts the officer was able to get him in handcuffs.
The victim told police she pulled into the grocery store parking lot and a man was standing on the sidewalk kind of pacing back and forth. She put her car in park and went into the store leaving her passenger in the passenger seat.
When she came out of the store the man was still standing there.
She walked past him and got behind the wheel of her car. when she was backing up the man walked in front of her car and went to the driver's side door and tried to open it forcefully, she said. The subject then went to the rear passenger door and tried to open it also. She then put the car in driver and gunned it. The man then started running alongside her car attempting to pull the doors open. She was able to call police.
The passenger also told police that the suspect was very aggressive and he clearly believes the suspect was trying to carjack them, according to his statement in the report.
The suspect appeared to be under the influence of suffer from some type of mental order, the incident report said. He was incoherent when officers spoke to him and was speaking with persons not there. He also spoke of the upcoming end of the world, the report said. he was taken to a hospital for evaluation and transported to jail and charged with Felony carjacking.
