Stop that car

  • Monday, January 14, 2013

Police were winding up on a call for a false alarm one evening when they witnessed a driver back into a parked vehicle and then drive off. The incident report said the driver never stopped to see if the car was occupied or if any damage had been sustained.
An officer jumped into his patrol car and followed the vehicle, eventually pulling it over down the street.
The driver's speech was slurred according to the report and the officer could smell alcohol when she spoke.
The officer asked the woman where she was coming from and she said she had been at a work party.
When asked if she had been drinking, she said she only had one glass of wine, according to the report.
She was asked to step out of her car and after she did, she leaned on it for support.
The officer asked her to perform some sobriety tests but was unable to pass any of them, according to the incident report.
She was then arrested for DUI and refused the breath test.
Another officer at the scene tried to locate a driver of the other car, but could not find anyone. By the time he went back to inspect the car, it was gone. The report said if there was any damage, it was minor.
