Stay up to date with Trident Academy
Trident Academy has brought in a licensed psycho-educational specialist to offer guidance to parents, students and teachers.
Trident Academy is a K5-12 school in Mount Pleasant for students with learning differences. “Chantal Y. Milcarek, M.Ed. will help with testing interpretation, behavior and strategies, admissions and serve as a resource for parents,” the school’s website noted. “These services are included with tuition.”
Milcarek is the founder and primary practitioner of Sprouting Minds, which is an organization specializing in the overall functioning of children of adolescents with emphasis on academics.
“More than anything, I want students who are struggling to meet their potential in the classroom,” Milcarek said in the release. “I think the best way to do that is through collaboration. I’ll continue facilitating collaborations between the families and teachers at Trident Academy, as well as helping students have a more seamless transition to another school or to college.”
Appointments can be made by going to the Trident Academy website – TridentAcademy.com – and finding Milcarek’s online calendar in the “About Us” section.
Cards to be shipped overseas
Middle and upper school students of Trident Academy recently designed about 30 cards to send to United States military members stationed in Afghanistan, according to the school’s website. Rhonda McKenna’s husband is currently serving the country as a Black Hawk rescue helicopter pilot. He will receive the cards, McKenna is an upper elementary classroom teacher and homework haven facilitator.
Lending a hand
A needy Mount Pleasant family received more than 300 canned goods and various food items over Thanksgiving courtesy of Trident Academy. The school’s Student Government Association spearheaded the effort with participating from the entire academy, which included raising enough money to also donate a turkey and ham.
