Island Overstocks, for years the center for discount goods in MountPleasant, has changed hands effective Dec. 14. Tapp Palmer, previous owner, had planned on closing the warehouse and moving on to another venture, but the outcry from long time shoppers made him take another look. At the same time, frequent customer Kelley Murray decided the area needed the store, and stepped in.
One important note, existing management will not change. “The staff really made this transition easy, and everybody loves them when they come in to shop” said Kelley.
After a brief closure for inventory, the store re-opened Dec. 19, with weekly, and sometimes bi-weekly, deliveries of fresh goods from various locations in the Southeast. Island Overstocks is located at 1558 Ben Sawyer Blvd, Call with questions at 843-654-9674, or www.islandoverstocks.com.
