Presiding Bishop visiting the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina January 25-26

The Most Reverend Katharine Jefferts Schori, Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church, will be in Charleston, Jan. 25-26 as Episcopalians in the diocese gather to choose a new bishop and other leaders. Two public events are planned:

•Friday, January 25

What: Meet and Greet the Presiding Bishop

Where: Grace Episcopal Church, 98 Wentworth St., Charleston SC 29401

Time: 4:00-5:00 p.m.

•Saturday, January 26

What: Special Meeting of the Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina.

Where: Grace Episcopal Church, 98 Wentworth St., Charleston

Schedule:

7:30 a.m. Registration check-in opens; breakfast available

9:30 a.m. Choral Eucharist, with Bishop Jefferts Schori as Celebrant and Preacher. All preregistered media are welcome at the service.

11:00 a.m. (approx.) Call to order. Meeting is expected to include election of a Provisional Bishop, who will be installed immediately. Lunch will be served after the meeting.
