So, what are you hoping to accomplish in the New Year? Losing weight? Participating in the bridge run? Being healthy as a family and staying on course?
Louie’s Kids is going to restart the “Free Saturday Morning Family Workouts” as well as bi-weekly grocery store tours with local Piggly Wiggly stores. If it’s time to walk, run and pursue goals to be fit for life, then we want you.
The latest initiative of Louie’s Kids hopes to bring adult family members together with their kids seeking a healthy lifestyle each Saturday starting at 9 a.m. from Hampton Park. “But, will this cut into my ‘fun money’?” you might ask. No, it’s free.
“All that’s needed is a desire to change and a willingness to show up”, said Louie’s Kids Program Director, Laura Connors, in a news release. “We need kids and their parents to take a stand in our effort to turn back the tide of childhood obesity, pediatric heart disease and diabetes, to name a few, and together we can do this.”
“We have tried so many times to make Saturday workouts available and accessible, but we have to know that there are families and kids who will come and work hard. Good instructors are not cheap and this isn’t staffed by volunteers,” Louis Yuhasz, founder and CEO of Louie’s Kids added.
“The grocery store tours are an area that we have great expertise in, families are going to learn a lot about eating well on a budget.”
For more details on the workouts or the grocery store tours, please visit www.louieskids.org or contact Laura Connors at 819-4693 or Laura@louieskids.org.
