Just making a point

  • Sunday, January 27, 2013

A wife called police to her home because she and her husband had been arguing.

When the officer arrived, the husband answered the door and said he knew his wife had called police. The suspect said he and his wife had been at a party and both had been drinking. According to the report, the suspect was slurring his words and laughing uncontrollably during the whole interview. The officer asked the suspect if the argument went physical at anytime, and he said no. The suspect said there was close-quarter arguing with flailing arms but no shoving, according to the report.

The wife was also very intoxicated. The report said she too was slurring her words and unsteady on her feet. She confirmed they had been at a party. She said she had five beers followed by shots of tequila. She said she did not remember the reason for the argument but at some point she was pushed down, according to the report. The officer asked the victim where this took place and she said in the bedroom. But she led the officer to a spot in the hall, no where near the bedroom. The officer looked her over for physical manifestations, but found none, according to the report.

The victim said they have been married two years and the arguing has gotten worse, especially when they drink.

She said she called the police so the suspect would know she was serious about stopping the arguing. She said she did not fear for her safety and did not want the suspect to leave because they were fine. She said she only called police, “just to make a point.”

They agreed to sleep in separate bedrooms for the night.
