Mount Pleasant Police responded to an auto/pedestrian collision Wednesday morning on Coleman Boulevard in front of Moultrie Middle School, according to Mount Pleasant Police Department reports.
Police responded when a juvenile pedestrian was struck by an automobile.
The road was closed to northbound traffic during the investigation.The fire department was on-scene trying to raise the SUV off of the child "to prevent further injury” according to the report. The child is said to have been completely under the vehicle, the report states.
EMS arrived on the scene and transported the juvenile to the Medical University of South Carolina “for minor injury treatment.”
At the time of the collision, Charleston County Crossing Guards were actively assisting children across the boulevard, the police report states. “But the juvenile did not utilize the service.”
