WHAT: The Franke Chorus

WHEN: Tuesday, Feb 12, 3:30 p.m. practice for spring concert begins

WHERE: The Rodenberg Chapel on The Franke at Seaside campus

DETAILS: The Franke Chorus, directed by Anita O’Donnell, is composed of a group of volunteers from the Charleston and Mount Pleasant areas. Some are residents of the Franke at Seaside while others are drawn to from the surrounding area. All ages, both men and women, are invited to join the group. Basses and tenors are especially welcome. What: Rare violin concert

When: Sunday, Feb. 17, 4 to 6 p.m.

Where: Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim, 90 Hasell St.

Details: Yuriy Bekker, concertmaster and acting artistic director of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, will mesmerize listeners as he plays two rare violins, one from Stradivari’s Golden Period, and one crafted by Guarneri de Gesu. These 17/18th century craftsmen made the finest violins in the world, with only hundreds still in existence. Seating is limited. Call the synogogue for more information. Pet grief

What: Faithful Forever, pet loss grief support group

When: Tuesday, Feb. 19 (every third Tuesday of the month), 6–7:30 p.m.

Where: McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 2501 Bees Ferry Road

Details: Pet Parents who have recently lost a beloved pet can come together in a supportive environment to discuss the issues of grief, mourning and pet loss. The support group will be facilitated by a licensed professional counselor. Faithful Forever is the pet cremation division of McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, a local family-owned funeral home since 1886. Faithful Forever has been offering pet services since 2008. What: Men’s Fellowship Spaghetti Dinner.

Details: Plates are $8 and children under 10 are free. There will be music, many local folks and containers of meet sauce for sale on the way out.
