The outside west bound lane of Rifle Range Road between Mount Pleasant Waterworks and Whitesides Elementary School will be closed with limitations imposed on access to/from Mount Pleasant Waterworks. Estimated construction start date is Feb. 18. Lane closure will be in effect for up to two weeks pending conditions encountered with the repair and subsurface conditions.
We appreciate your patience and understanding. The Traffic Control Plan includes the following:
o Visual flags and barricades at the site with a suitable transition into lane shifts,
o Visual message board at each roundabout flanking the site,
o Lowered speed limits to 35 mph, and
o Safety personnel positioned at the entrance to Whitesides Elementary.
The Traffic Control Plan has been developed in coordination with the South Carolina Department of Transportation and Town of Mount Pleasant Transportation Department with the objective of maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow to/from the school. A major utility project is planned by Mount Pleasant Waterworks to repair the primary wastewater force main feeding the Rifle Range Road Wastewater Treatment Plant.
