Trident Technical College's Mount Pleasant campus is growing.

The school recently unveiled additional classrooms at the regional campus in the middle of Mount Pleasant.

TTC President Mary Thornley joined with the dean of the Mount Pleasant campus Mike Patterson on Thursday to show the new classrooms to TTC Foundation members and local government officials.

The new classrooms will allow the regional campus to be more efficient and to better meet the needs of its students. “We now have six classrooms, and the extra space will allow us to offer more scheduling options and to be more convenient for our students,” said Patterson.

One of the new classrooms can be divided into two rooms which allows it to have the ability to host community meetings and other functions.

The other classroom has been outfitted with drawing tables to meet the beginning requirements for programs in graphic design and Computer Aided Design. Data on the East Cooper zip codes showed Trident Tech administrators that engineering and graphic design were two of the fields of study of most interest to East Cooper area students.

The campus still has room to grow into, as it works to meet the needs of East Cooper students.
