Come help the Town of Mount Pleasant support local arts during ArtFest at Towne Centre on Saturday, March 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Events like ArtFest, the Blessing of the Fleet, Children’s Day Festival, the Christmas Parade and other Town-sponsored events are essential components of a well-balanced, progressive, healthy and friendly town,” said Nicole Harvey, special events planner for the Town of Mount Pleasant. “Towne Centre has been the perfect corporate partner, offering a beautiful setting to showcase the diversity of our local talent while allowing participants a chance to ignite their own creative sparks.”

Activities at the Children’s Craft Village will include face painting, caricature drawings, sidewalk chalk, hula hoops, craft activities, Sweetgrass basketry and balloon animals. Some of the day’s special performances will include Revolve Aerial Dance, Jugglestuff and No Sleeves Magic. As in years past, TV sponsor WCBD Channel 2 will emcee the event.

The Mount Pleasant Artists Guild will have more than 100 works of art on display. Entries will be judged and spectators have the chance to vote on the People’s Choice Award, Best of Show, first, second and third prizes.

Towne Centre is located at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, 1600 Palmetto Grande Drive. For more information on ArtFest at Towne Centre, visit www.ComeOnOverMP.com or www.facebook.com/MountPleasantArtFest, or call 843-884-8517.
