The Garden Club of Charleston’s 78th annual Walking Tour of Private Houses and Gardens will take place on Friday, April 5, and Saturday April 6 from 2-5 p.m.
The tour will include some of Charleston’s finest houses and gardens in the Historic District, and will feature flowers arranged by members of The Garden Club of Charleston. Refreshments will be served in a lovely Charleston garden.
The Garden Club of Charleston, which was founded in 1922, opens some of the city’s houses and gardens for the public to enjoy, and to benefit the club’s continuing projects. This is the most beautiful time of the year in Charleston, with the gardens at their peak; co-chairs Virginia Brush and Celia Hansult hope you will join club members for the tour.
Tickets are $45. Advanced tickets are available by mail (with a $2 handling charge) and on the web at: www. thegardenclubofcharleston.org. They will also be available at the Visitor Information Center, April 4-6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on the day of the tours.
All proceeds benefit The Garden Club of Charleston’s continuing projects - maintaining the gardens at the Manigault House, the Heyward-Washington House, the Gateway Walk, the Healing Garden at the Medical University of South Carolina, the Museum Courtyard Garden and the garden at the Historic Confederate Home.
