For the 12th consecutive year, Bojangles’ is supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) through its Shamrocks Against Dystrophy in-store fundraiser. Each day through Sunday, March 17, customers can once again support the organization by purchasing a green shamrock for $1 or gold shamrock for $5.
The program is offered at all company-owned Bojangles’ and participating franchise locations. Customers who support MDA by purchasing a $1 or $5 shamrock will be rewarded with a coupon for a free Bo-Berry Biscuit – a Bojangles’ made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuit filled with blueberries, topped with a sweet icing drizzle.
“For the past 15 years Bojangles’ has sponsored various MDA fundraisers to support local research to find a cure for neuromuscular diseases,” said Bojangles’ president and CEO Randy Kibler. “We appreciate the hard work of our Bojangles’ teams and the generous participation of our loyal customers as we host the 12th annual Shamrocks Against Dystrophy fundraiser. This campaign provides funds for children to enjoy the magical experience of attending MDA Summer Camp for one week.”
This one-of-a-kind camp experience offers a wide range of activities specially designed for young people who have limited mobility or use medical equipment such as wheelchairs. All programs are conducted in a relaxed atmosphere to give campers an unmatched opportunity to develop lifelong friendships, share interests and build self-confidence alongside those dealing with similar challenges.
The cost of sending one child to MDA Summer Camp for a week is $800, and MDA depends solely on the efforts of its corporate supporters to raise these funds. Last year, the Bojangles’ company and franchise restaurants raised a new Shamrocks record of over $423,000, sending more than 530 children to MDA Summer Camps throughout the brand’s operating markets. The goal this year is to exceed last year’s record and provide more children the opportunity to experience the joys of MDA Summer Camps.
