Details: The theme will be AFA in Action: What AFA Does for You (AD/Vet/Retiree) and the Local Community. Guest speaker will be 2012 AFA South Carolina Teacher of the Year Amy Baldwin. The meeting is open to AFA members and non-members with base access privileges. Lunch served at 11 a.m.

Flapjack fundraiser



What: SCUMP95 Elite girls soccer team flapjack fundraiser

When: Saturday, March 9, 8-10 a.m.

Where: Applebees, 1486 Stuart Engles Blvd.

Details: Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward getting the South Carolina State Cup SCUMP 95 Elite team to Edmond, Okla., as South Carolina’s state championship representative to the Regional Soccer Tournament. Stewards of Children



What: Keeping Our Children Safe

When: Saturday, March 9, 9 a.m.-noon

Where: Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union, Highway 17 at Park West

Details: The Woman’s Club of Charleston, whose mission is community service, and the S.C. Federation of Women’s Clubs Progress Foundation invite members of the community to join them for a Stewards of Children program. This workshop is a prevention training program that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
