BOYS BASKETBALL
The Bishop England boys basketball team boasted two players on the Region 6-2A team, as voted on by the conference's coaches.
Sophomore wing B.J. Grevey and senior guard Jacob Vecchiolla both earned spots. The Battling Bishops finished 11-12 overall with an 8-6 mark in region action. They were eliminated from state playoff contention in the first round by Edisto for the second consecutive season.
Grevey was one of two sophomores to be named to the all-region team. DeVontae Wilson, from Battery Creek, was the other.
Coach of the Year went to Woodland's Joe Mackey. Player of the Year stayed with Woodland and went to Sergio Smith.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Bishop England girls basketball was well represented in Region 6-2A voting. Paul Runey was named Coach of the Year and junior Mary Harriet Moore was awarded Player of the Year.
Junior guard Michele Boykin, senior forward Ellie James and senior forward Mia Kiernan made the all-region team. The Battling Bishops finished 23-4 overall and 14-0 in conference. They lost in the 2A state championship game against Keenan.
