The students in thirds through fifth grade are participating in the pilot program, Engaging Creative Minds, which provides students access to innovative arts and learning opportunities based on Common Core standards.
These students, along with the rest of the fifth graders, created art work about Reconstruction and wrote personal narratives based on a character in their painting. Fifth grader, Ava Elliott had a great time.
“It was really cool. Mrs. Antonelli taught us how to do a water color resist with crayons. And then we reviewed Reconstruction. We did art with Social Studies.”
