Heyward arrested for probation violation

James L. Heyward Jr. was booked in the Charleston County Jail, Wednesday afternoon, for a probation violation, according to Charleston County bookings reports.

The 48-year-old Mount Pleasant man was arrested by the Department of Probation Parole and Pardon Services, per the report, and his bond was set at $80,000. As of Thursday morning, Heyward remained as a “current” inmate.

Heyward is linked to Heyward's Automotive Body Shop, a former Mount Pleasant business that was located at 905 Simmons Street. The phone number of the business has been disconnected.

According to a public records search, Heyward has appeared as a defendant in 76 charges in circuit court dating back to 1987.
