Each week, the Moultrie News and Mount Pleasant Recreation Department will feature one local lacrosse athlete. William Lyles, 14, plays defense for the Wizards.

Question: Who is your favorite lacrosse player or what is your favorite team?

Answer: I’m so new to the sport that I don’t even have a favorite team. My cousin is going to play Lacrosse for Drexel next year, so I’ll say Drexel.

Q: If you could visit any city or country, where would you go?

A: I live in the best city in the world. Why go anywhere else?

Q: What is the best moment in your athletic career?

A: I’m hoping to have some lacrosse highs soon, but my all-time high would have to be in football, scoring a touchdown in the state championship last year and winning it with the Mount Pleasant’s U12 All Stars.

Q: What is your favorite Mount Pleasant restaurant?

A: I’m a fast food junkie and really like Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

Q: If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be?

A: LeBron James. He’s an amazing athlete.

Q: What is the best advice you have gotten from a coach?

A: Recently, I wasn’t sure if lacrosse was for me. So, Coach Kuisel told me that to play lacrosse well you have to be sold out for it and give it your all. I think that is the key to success in anything.

Q: What do you look forward to the most about being an adult?

A: I look forward to being in charge and making my own decisions.

Q: What do you think is the most difficult and most fun position to play in lacrosse?

A: I really like playing defense, because you get to be aggressive, but I think playing midfield would be really challenging and a lot of fun, because you get to play offense and defense.

Q: What is your favorite movie and television show?

A: My favorite TV show is “SportsCenter.” I love to watch Adam Sandler movies too.

Q: If you could have dinner with any three people, who would you choose?

A: I would love to have dinner with LeBron James, Marcus Latimore and 2 Chainz.
