The Couch to 5k program organized by Noah Moore, a USATF and RRCA certified running coach, celebrated the completion of participants’ ultimate goal: finishing the Catch the Leprechaun 5k.

This past Thursday, more than 25 runners from the program marked off running a 5k race from their list of New Year’s resolutions. Moore started the program Jan. 6 and held an eight-week training course in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant.

Moore said some people from the group have begun training to complete a 10k. He has another group with similar goals starting May 5. “My plan of making everyone in the Lowcountry a runner is well on its way,” Moore said.

“These are people who made a New Year’s resolution and actually kept it.”
