Dragon tails

  • Thursday, March 21, 2013

The Laurel Hill Primary School annual “Get Fired Up For Reading” program finished with an exciting Dragon Parade featuring 150 of the school’s readers. Classes from each grade level kindergarten, first grade and second grade, as well as students who participated in last summer’s reading Olympics, were featured. Each year students read and paste scales on the hallway dragon with a goal of growing the dragon as far as possible by reading, reading and more reading. This year the dragon stretched 174 feet, representing thousands of hours of reading. Those taking part in the parade included (from left) Barb Ferson, Henry Warren and Tracey Porcher.
