Professional athletes and stars of the entertainment industry hit the links at Daniel Island Club, March 19, for the Needtobreathe Golf Classic benefitting the Palmetto Medical Initiative.

It marked the third year proceeds were directed to the medical group, and it was the fifth year the Commonwealth Cares Foundation hosted the charity golf tournament.

The classic got its name from the Needtobreathe rock band based out of Seneca.

A total of 180 golfers participated. The final tally of money raised from the charity event was not available at press time. Find this story online for the update.
