On Friday, March 1, officials with the Special Olympics Mid-Winter games were presented with a copy of “24 and 23 Make Me.” The book is written through the point of view of Grace Myatt, a seventh grade student at Laing Middle School, explaining how Down Syndrome occurs during conception. The book is written and illustrated by Julia Sacha, a senior at Academic Magnet, and edited by Sacha’s mentor, Merrie Koester Southgate. Proceeds from sales of the book are given to Special Olympics.
