The high school lacrosse regular season is short, but the postseason is much shorter.

The Bishop England boys lacrosse team found that out the hard way Tuesday night, losing to Academic Magnet at home, 13-6. Raptors game statistics were not available at the time of this report, but Battling Bishops' Connor Canning had three goals and three assists.

Wando, the No. 1 seed in the Lower State bracket, enjoyed a 22-4 rout of Ridge View in the opening round at Wando Stadium. Carson Horner had five goals and CJ Andersen added four to lead the Warriors. They advance to host No. 4 Hilton Head, which defeated Spring Valley on Tuesday night. Academic Magnet, a No. 6 seed and the only boys non-favored seed to win its first round contest in the state, will travel to AC Flora, Thursday. AC Flora beat Lexington 13-2.

On the girls side, No. 1 Wando knocked off Richland Northeast via forfeit and will host No. 5 Academic Magnet, Thursday evening. Because of a high chance of rain, coach Jessica Stralkowski said "plans are in the works as we speak about potential Friday game."

The Raptors edged Spring Valley, 8-7, Tuesday. Academic Magnet stats were not available.

No. 2 Bishop England had no issues with No. 7 Hilton Head, winning 19-2. The Bishops were led by Taylor Kennington's five goals and one assist and Elena Bosco's three goals and six assists. They'll host No. 3 Chapin, Thursday night, which defeated Blythewood 13-5 on Tuesday.
