On Mother’s Day weekend, honor moms everywhere by supporting a cause that helps women and their families suffering from postpartum depression in the Lowcountry and beyond. Postpartum Support Charleston, formerly known as the Ruth Rhoden Craven Foundation, is hosting the 10th annual 5K Moms’ Run at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 11 at Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island.
A Family Fun Day will immediately follow the run. Participants can enjoy music, free food and plenty of children’s activities, including a jump castle, putt-putt golf, face painting, crafts and games. Family Fun Day lasts until noon and is free to registered race participants and a suggested $10 donation per family for non-race participants.
This annual certified 5K Moms’ Run is Postpartum Support Charleston’s largest fundraiser and furthers its efforts of educating, supporting and healing women suffering from postpartum depression. The volunteer-run nonprofit offers support groups, resources, education and grants for women who may need financial assistance getting treatment for postpartum depression.
Race registration is $25, $30 for stroller registration (includes child t-shirt) and $15 for children 10 and under. Prices increase May 1. Those who register by April 30 will receive a t-shirt, printed bib and race bag. Ladies fit t-shirts are available. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. Online registration is not available for groups. To register a group, please email email@example.com.
