Church groups work together in Operation Inasmuch
Operation Inasmuch, a morning of outreach and caring to serve the “least of these” in our community.
On Saturday, April 20, members and friends of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church on Isle of Palms and All Saint’s Lutheran Church in Mount Pleasant will participate together in Operation Inasmuch, a morning of outreach and caring to serve the “least of these” in our community. Operation Inasmuch is a national nonprofit that supports and encourages churches to move congregants out of their sanctuary seats and into the streets to serve the neediest in their communities.
The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s. Following a brief service and continental breakfast the volunteers will head out to their various projects. Projects for the day include family-friendly activities like building and painting birdhouses for Hospice, or making and delivering cards and cookies to local firefighters and homebound. Other volunteers will gather at the Piggly Wiggly for a food drive to benefit East Cooper Meals On Wheels.
Both churches have been collecting books for the Medical University of South Carolina, which will be sorted and packaged for delivery. Another group will be making a quilt that will go to someone in need.
There will also be a group of handymen and women doing some home and yard maintenance in the community. Most projects will conclude around noon.
Anyone interested in being a part of this great day of community caring is welcome to contact either St. Mark’s at 886-8557 or All Saints Lutheran Church at 884-5470 before April 19 for more information.
