Wando athletic director Bob Hayes announced the signings of 10 student athletes to college scholarships, Monday morning in the Palmetto Room.
The Warriors signing scholarships will be girls lacrosse player Sierra Armstrong (Presbyterian); girls soccer player Suzie Vallez (Newberry); softball players Danica Newton (Erskine), Mary Margaret Taylor (Florence Darlington Tech), Cadie Limbaker (Meredith) and Tori Frink (USC Sumter); swimmer Kelsey Gross (West Virginia Tech); girls cross country/track athlete Georgia Compton (Furman); boys soccer players Trey Mathewes (Limestone) and Joe Wichman (Wofford); and boys basketball standout Aaron Brown (Erskine).
Five Bishop England student athletes will attend college with the help of scholarships, according to associate athletic director and baseball coach Mike Darnell.
Baseball players Zack Madden and Cameron Garrett will soon play for South Carolina and Spartanburg Methodist, respectively. Ian Willis takes his lacrosse skills to Belmont Abbey. Anna Raquel Robison signed with Erskine College for women's golf. And, Andrew Furmanchik elected to stay in the Lowcountry by joining The Citadel track and field team.
