The Cario Middle School band program will hold its annual “Instrument Testing Night” on April 30 in the band room at Cario Middle School. Evaluation times will be between 4 and 7:30 p.m. The evaluations are for rising sixth graders who plan to attend Cario Middle School in the fall. The entire process should take about one hour. Parents may come at any time during the event, as students are handled on a first come, first serve basis. Students with athletic games that evening may come dressed in full uniform and be scheduled so they can still attend their games. Jeff Scott, Cario band director, says the band plans to start 150 – 160 beginners next year and this event is the primary way for parents to secure a placement for their child. The band will still register students into the fall, but instrument choices may be more limited at that time.
