Barrier Island program looking for photos, stories

  • Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Redding Kessinger and Sully Witte enjoyed Barrier Island growing up. They went both as school chidlren and as young campers to Camp St. Christopher. IMAGE PROVIDED

Those of you who have children in middle school and beyond may be familiar with the camp at Barrier Islands, as most of the sixth graders in the Lowcountry go there for a science field trip for about one week.

Since the camp is having a huge anniversary celebration weekend in June marking 75 years in providing this education venue, they would like anyone to send in stories and pictures from their child/ren’s time at the camp. If you send photos, please include the names of the children and the date it was taken and if possible, include a few words describing your child’s time at the camp. Entries can be emailed to Orrelljones@comcast.net or mailed to her at: Barbara orrell-jones, 1870 Shell Ring Circle, Mount Pleasant, S.C., 29466. Please include a self-addressed stamp envelope. Otherwise, all pictures and items submitted will become property of the camp.
