The French Naval vessel “Le Monge” arrived in Charleston on April 16 for a three day social visit to our port city. The crew of 221 sailors thoroughly enjoyed the city’s fine dining, historic tours, a tour of the Yorktown at Patriots Point and making new friends while visiting the city, according to Gary Santos, Port Manager for Inchcape Shipping Services.

The crew members participated in a spirited Rugby Match, held at Cario Field in Park West, with a local team made up of Citadel players and the Charleston Outlaws. The vessel departed Charleston for Europe on the 19.
