Austera, Robert Richard

Robert Austera (formerly of Mount Pleasant, S.C.) passed away on March 31, 2013 at his home in Anaheim, California. He was 57.

Robert was born in Prague, Czech Republic, on February 15, 1956 to Hans and Jirina (Rocheltt) Austera. Robert was a talented swimmer who was training for the Olympics, to represent Czechoslovakia. His family moved to Australia following the Russian invasion of 1968. Robert worked in IT for many years.

Robert is survived by his mother Jirina, brother Hans (Ivana), nephew Richard (Chris) and great nephew Ronin, all in Australia. He had three step children: Emily Gray of Virginia, Sarah (Aleena and Zane) of California, David (Kaia) of South Carolina, Rita Austera of Virginia, Zubair Nawaz of California, family in Europe and many good friends. He will be missed by many.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
