A concerned citizen called police about a possible drunk driver. He followed the driver to a nearby gas station and waited for police. When an officer arrived, he pointed him inside the store where the possible drunk driver was.
She walked out of the store and according to the report, was unsteady on her feet. The officer made contact with the female driver and said he had received a report that she was swerving on the bridge. The woman offered no reason for this, the report said.
The officer then asked her if she had any physical problems and she said she did not. He asked her why, then did she have so much trouble walking through the gas station parking lot. She said she was tired, according to the report. The officer then asked her if she knew her ABC’s. When she said yes, he told her to recite them from D to P. She could not do it on two tries.
She was then arrested for drunkeness in pubic and possession of a fake ID. Little did anyone know, not a week later, this same driver would crash into the side of the Shem Creek bridge.
