Police responded to a disabled car on the Bowman Road overpass. The left front tire was shredded. The driver said he may have hit a curb.
The driver said he was coming from a party at a friend’s house and that he had only one drink. But the report says the officer could easily smell it on him.
Later during questioning he told the officer he had two drinks.
He was asked to do some tests and being a college graduate, said he knew his alphabet. He was asked to recite to from D to P. When he did he added an A in the middle. But he caught himself and pointed it out to the police officer. Although, the report said, he could not do it successfully the second time either.
He proceeded to fail the rest of the field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. He was taken to the station where he blew a 0.00 percent on the Breathalyzer. He was later transported to the hospital for a urine test. The first sample was dropped in the toilet by the suspect. A second sample was taken and secured into evidence.
