Each week, the Moultrie News and Mount Pleasant Recreation Department will feature one local lacrosse athlete participating in the department. Jack Niesse, 13, plays defense for the Lowcountry Lacrosse team.


Question: Who is your favorite lacrosse player and team?

Answer: My favorite lacrosse player is Brodie Merrill. My favorite team is the Duke Blue Devils.

Q: If you could visit any city or country, where would you go?

A: If I could visit any country, I would visit Fiji.

Q: What is the best moment in your athletic career?

A: The best moment in my athletic career was when I made a layup to tie the game at the buzzer, then I made the game-winning free throw in overtime. Once in a lifetime.

Q: What is your favorite Mount Pleasant restaurant?

A: The Wreck.

Q: If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be?

A: If I could be anyone for a day, I would be Kirk Herbstreit, because he has my dream job.

Q: What is the best advice you have gotten from a coach?

A: The best advice I have gotten from a coach is to persevere to succeed, and you practice how you play.

Q: What do you look forward to the most about being an adult?

A: What I look forward to the most about being an adult is to get a job to make money.

Q: What do you think is the most difficult and most fun position to play in lacrosse?

A: The most difficult position is middie, because it takes a lot of speed and endurance. The most fun position is defense, because you get to throw checks and hit people.

Q: What is your favorite movie and television show?

A: My favorite movie is “Grown Ups” and my favorite TV show is “SportsCenter” or “SportsNation.”

Q: If you could have dinner with any three people, who would you choose?

A: I would choose Lebron James, Drew Brees, Brodie Merrill and/or Adam Sandler.
