East Cooper Meals on wheels hosted their annual gala and auction last Wednesday evening at the Omar Shrine Temple.
Each year guests gather for this black-tie optional affair to enjoy live and silent auctions, music and signature small plates from more than a dozen local chefs. Guests feasted on culinary delights ranging from traditional southern favorites to international dishes from the Orient and Europe while bid on items donated by over 100 businesses in our community. The evening concluded with a fast-paced live auction featuring all-inclusive getaways, one-of-a-kind excursions and unique packages for every lifestyle.
Chefs came from BACCO, Charleston’s Cafe, Falyn’s on Forty-one, Gullah Cuisine, Harbor Breeze, Iacofano’s, Just Eat This, Kaminksky’s, Langdon’s Restaurant & Wine Bar | Opal, Lowcountry Eats, Miss Linda’s Fine Foods, Outback Steakhouse, Salt Works Catering Company and Wando High School Culinary Arts.
Last year ECMOW delivered 137,481 meals using more than 300 volunteers. Visit www.ecmow.org to learn about donation opportunities and volunteers opportunities.
