Willie Nelson joins Zac Brown Band for festival

  • Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Voted “Best Music Concert” in 2011 and 2012 by Charleston City Paper readers, Zac Brown Band’s Southern Ground Music & Food Festival returns for a third year to Charleston on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19 and 20. Presented by LandShark Lager, ZBB’s ultimate sensory experience will take place at Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island in Berkeley County.

Called “impressive” (Hollywood Reporter), “top notch” (Charleston City Paper) and all together “epic” (People), the festival will feature sets by Willie Nelson & Family, Band of Horses, The Head and the Heart, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Dawes and Kacey Musgraves, among additional names to be announced soon.

Continuing the festival’s annual tradition - which the band kicked off last year with iconic artists such as Gregg Allman and John Mayer - ZBB’s “Super Sets” will close both nights with special sit-in performances also to be announced soon.

The Charleston event follows the festival’s second visit to Nashville, taking place this Sept. 27 and 28.

Get tickets at Blackbaud Stadium box office, by phone at 877-4-FLY-TIX, or online at www.ticketfly.com.

VIP ticketing options are available, including Zac Brown Band’s customized Front Porch Stage Boxes, which provide concertgoers with onstage seating and a gourmet meal prepared by a team of renowned chefs under the helm of Southern Ground executive chef Rusty Hamlin. Guests in the boxes are served complimentary beer, wine, liquor and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as gourmet cuisine from ZBB’s mobile kitchen.

Two-day festival passes start at $99. Gates open at noon on both Saturday and Sunday. Stay tuned for more details on the full music and food lineup: http://www.southerngroundfestival.com.
