Mount Pleasant Performing Arts Company dancers trained at Academy of Dance Arts with instructors Larisa Dahabi and Ann Bebergal started auditioning in January 2013 for various intensive dance programs throughout the country. It is quite an honor that these dancers were chosen after auditioning to attend such programs as: American Ballet Theatre in Alabama and Texas, Atlanta Ballet in Atlanta, University of South Carolina in Columbia, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Governors School in Greensville. The dancers are as follows: Mary Carducci, Kathryn Edwards, Audrey Fryman (received a working scholarship from Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet), George Hunt, Julia Hepburn, Anna Lipke, Stella LoGiudice, Ursula Zeoli and Lauren Surface.

The exceptional ballet training they receive at Academy of Dance Arts along with the experience of performing on stage with Mount Pleasant Performing Arts Company under the direction of artistic director Larisa Dahabi has prepared them for auditioning and thereby acceptance into the dance programs at these fine schools.

Mount Pleasant Performing Arts Company is a nonprofit youth dance company residing at Academy of Dance Arts and will feature these dancers along with the other dance company members in their upcoming 2013 season performances of “The Tale of Beauty and the Beast” on Aug. 17 and 18 at the Sottile Theatre in Charleston and “The Nutcracker” on Dec. 7 and 8 at Charleston Southern University Lightsey Chapel Auditorium.

Mark your calendars to see these fine dancers perform. For more information, call 843-971-7880 or visit their website www.mpspa.com.
