Nancy Cross has taught in the Charleston County School District for 30 years. She along with Ruth Goldsmith and a few others began the strings program for CCSD. Several years ago Nancy was selected by Yale as one of the best strings teachers in the country.

She has served as the lead strings teacher for CCSD and is adored by all of her students. She has spent her entire teaching career instilling in her students her passion for music and love for learning. Nancy Cross has taught approximately 6,000 students in Mount Pleasant to play the violin, viola, cello, and string bass since she started teaching here in 1969. She is her own Piccolo Spoleto event. She will be retiring from teaching in the Charleston County Schools this spring.
