CPT Gene Hindman

Guy E. Mossman was awarded the Patriot Award, a special recognition by the ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) to honor his outstanding support of CPT Gene Hindman at the ORBIS corporate headquarters on May 23 in Mount Pleasant.

During his last deployment overseas, CPT Gene Hindman, who is assigned to C Co 4-118 Infantry Mount Pleasant, recommended Guy Mossman for the Patriot Award for his generous support during CPT Hindman’s two active duty deployments.

Guy Mossman and several employees from the office frequently reached out via email to let CPT Hindman know that they were thinking of him. Mossman has created an exceptional work environment that stands by its platform of healthy work-life balance. Moassman has built a company that is very friendly to the active members of the Reserve and Retirees. His patriotic support provides the home front support and stability that enables CPT. Hindmand to focus on his responsibilities while forward. That level of commitment is valuable to him and sets a great example to his corporate peers.

“Guy and the people at ORBIS have been great during both of my deployments. It was a small way that I could say thank you for looking out for me.” said Hindman, a project manager for ORBIS since 2008.

ESGR is a Department of Defense office that was established to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s military commitment. The ESGR is supported by a network of more than 4,900 volunteers in 54 committees located across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam-CNMI, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts an employer has made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed. Guy E Mossman and the corporate environment at ORBIS is the exact forum for an exemplary veteran owned small business.

ORBIS was established in 2000 by CEO Guy Mossman. The company provides ISO 9001 certified engineering, technical and consulting services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial clients. The corporate headquarters is located in Mount Pleasant with 140 employees and regional business units located in Portsmouth N.H., Washington D.C., Huntsville, Ala., Norfolk, Va., Groton, Conn. and San Diego Calif.
