Frances “Ponnie” Inabinet Holman
Frances “Ponnie” Inabinet Holman, 85, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, wife of the late Theo Moss Holman passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013. A Celebration of Ponnie’s Life was held Saturday, June 8, 2013, in the First United Methodist Church - Isle of Palms, 12 21st Avenue at 11 a,m. The family received friends at the church following the service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Mrs. Holman was born April 4, 1928, in St. Matthews, South Carolina, daughter of the late Marion Andrew and Eloise Ott Inabinet. She graduated from St. Matthews High School and was an Education major at Winthrop College and went on to become a teacher. Ponnie was a long-time member at First United Methodist Church of Isle of Palms, where she was also a member of the Women’s Circle. A gifted artist and crafter, she loved to fish, shrimp and camp. She enjoyed playing bridge and, with her husband, was very involved in the Exchange Club and the Beachcombers on the Isle of Palms. Above all other things, Ponnie cherished spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Paula Canine and her husband, The Rev. David Canine of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Lynn Cunningham and her husband, John of Goose Creek, S.C.; her grandchildren, The Rev. Laura Canine of Simpsonville, S.C., Jack Canine of Dallas, Texas, Caroline Karyshyn and her husband, Jarrett of Bluffton, S.C., Cameron Taylor of Portland, Ore., Matt Taylor of Perth, Western Australia, Charlotte Cunningham of Goose Creek, S.C., and Gayle Cunningham of Goose Creek, S.C.; and her sister, Jacqueline Fleming of Tallahassee, Fla. Ponnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Gayle Taylor of Hilton Head, S.C., and her sister, Virginia Pierce of Walterboro, SC.
