Custom picture framing business expands in Mount Pleasant

  • Wednesday, June 12, 2013

A Simple Tree Custom Picture Framing that specializes in custom picture framing and framing for artists and interior designers has expanded their operations and recently moved to 875 Walt Miller St. in Mount Pleasant. Locally owned and operated by Carol Williams and her son, Chris Williams, the framing shop has been serving the greater Charleston area since 2002.

“We started the business out of our home in I’On neighborhood,” says Carol Williams. “Picture framing is my passion. I am honored to frame for Charleston’s leading artists. When an artist brings in their painting still wet with paint and asks my opinion on which frames will look the best, it makes my day. My business has grown by referrals from friends, neighbors and artists recommendations,” continues Williams.

With more than 600 custom frames and several styles of ready-mades, many named for local noted artists, all work is done on site in the 1,000 square foot store near the Ravenel Bridge in Mount Pleasant. “We specialize in conservation framing with acid free mat boards,” say production manager, Chris Williams.

To view a selection of picture frames, visit the company’s new website at www.asimpletree.com. Horton Hayes Fine Art and the Ibis Fine Art in downtown Charleston also display a mini gallery of the company’s frames.

Founded in 2002, A Simple Tree Custom Picture Framing, a division of Southern Moon, is a source of quality custom framing and picture framing services in the greater Charleston area. For more information, please visit www.asimpletree.com or call 843-606-0017.
