Each week, the Moultrie News and Mount Pleasant Recreation Department will feature one local track and field athlete participating in the department.
Jake Murray, 8, participates in the long jump, 200-meter and 400-meter run events with the Mount Pleasant Track Club. Tyler Boselowitz, 12, participates in the long jump, 100-meter and 200-meter races with the club.
Question: If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be?
Jake Murray: Usain Bolt, because he is the fastest man in the world.
Tyler Boselowitz: Danny Way, skateboarder.
Q: What is your favorite Mount Pleasant restaurant?
JM: TGI Fridays – love their desserts.
Q: What is the best moment in your athletic career?
JM: Throwing a touchdown pass to win our game.
TB: Scoring the winning goal in overtime of a tournament final.
Q: What is the best advice you have gotten from a coach?
JM: Always try to do your very best and you will be a success.
TB: Hard practice = easy game; easy practice = hard game.
Q: What do you look forward to the most about being an adult?
JM: Getting a job and having lots of money.
TB: Not having to worry about school.
Q: What do you think are the most difficult and most fun aspects of track?
JM: Most difficult: 3000-meter. Most fun: long jump.
TB: Most fun is everyone gets along. Hardest is practice is tough.
Q: What is your movie and TV show?
JM: Movie: “Like Mike 2 – Street Ball” and TV show: “Kickin’ It.”
TB: Movie: “Dodgeball” and TV show: “Storage Hunters.”
Q: If you could have dinner with any three people who would you choose?
JM: My mommy because she is my family, my daddy because I look up to him and my little brother, Zach, because he is so much fun.
